LEAD & METALWORK SERVICES

Chimney Aprons & Edge patterns

A chimney is usually the highest point on a property—exposed to wind, rain and freeze/thaw movement. Correctly fitted leadwork is essential to keep water out.

We install back gutters, front aprons and step flashings around all chimney types, sealing off what’s usually the most vulnerable part of the roof. But there’s more to it than function.

Many clients choose to include decorative motifs—swages, scalloped edges, or bossed corner details—which we form by hand to suit the character of the property.

Chimney Aprons & Edge patterns

Our chimney and edge detailing services include:

  • Forming new aprons and back gutter systems

  • Soakers and step flashings for slate or tile

  • Decorative edge treatments on listed homes or public buildings

  • Hand-formed bosses and traditional lead motifs

This type of detailing gives a finish that’s both watertight and visually in keeping with period properties or architect-led designs.
